A big acquisition that might happen. It maybe on the radar. I've had conversations. Whether I pull the trigger or not, I'm not sure.

0% chance. You've never created anything in 20 years so not sure how 2024 will change that

does he need to create anything, in order to acquire something? (having money in the bank, perhaps inherited from a father or from a family business, looking to diversify).

don't forget - you are far from being a creator yourself, but you don't miss a chance to present yourself like a very successful one.

Nope.

My uncle bought a large freehold pub/restaurant with 8 letting rooms with his 25% tax free pension lump sum at the age of 55, having worked the 9-5 for 37 years, climbing up the ladder and saving hard.

Most businesses are of course acquired through presenting a strong business plan to a bank for acquisition financing.

To truly innovate would be very interesting. I have thought about becoming a Nominet member again because I have an innovative idea, that I think will take the UK domain name (end user) industry by surprise. But it means it won't make a lot of profit for year 1. In fact, it won't break even until year 2. But, it's innovative, in my opinion. A lot of innovative ideas don't make money (read profit, not revenue), and that's why they probably never come to light. Either they don't make money for many years, or they're extremely difficult to pull off.

An example would be DomainEasy. Innovative because of the fee model, but if we had to look at the expenses vs the profit in year 1/2, I would imagine it wouldn't look pretty. But if you can last longer than that (financially), and continue to innovate along the way, then money will no longer be problematic.
