Reading about high level European meeting today on the BBC and this caught my eye.......

€150bn (£125bn) in loans for defence investment in domains that could benefit the defence of the EU as a whole

No need for domainers to further flood Domainlore or Ukbackorder

Another fine piece of journalism from the 15 year old turds at the BBC.

@username frothing at the mouth about how corrupt the BBC is without reading the article.

@Cav was posting in jest, as the full quote reads:

"€150bn (£125bn) in loans for defence investment in domains that could benefit the defence of the EU as a whole - for example, air and missile defence, anti-drone systems, and military mobility - helping pool demand, and reduce costs through joint procurement"

'Domains' as in areas of specific activity or knowledge.

Yes, "areas" or "projects" would have been much better words.

And welcome back @seemly. I thought you might have been incarcerated with @Kaleido at Ryan's behest. Talking of which, he seems to have gone very quiet too....

Begging to defend things that are outside of your sphere of influence again I see. Or are you a BBC editor?

Awww... shall I get you a tissue to mop up your uncontrollable frothy dribble? Angry little weirdo.

You're the one offended by a comment about a shit "news" outlet. Not me.
I'm not offended that you made yourself look like a dickhead (again). I'm quite used to that by now.

Honestly, we get it - you hate the BBC.

But maybe just take a couple of seconds to wipe your chin and use an LLM of some sort to understand the context of an article before making yourself look silly in future. 😂

All of the context required to reply to the post was in the original post.

Just because you think I look like something, doesn't mean it's true. You're the one making things up in your own head. ☺️

In what alternate universe do you inhabit where not liking the BBC makes someone think that you are a dick head.

Imagine using an llm to understand something. Why would one use something that doesn't understand anything to understand something?

Here's how your genius idea turned out:

... and no, I'm not misunderstanding what the OP meant. That would mean to not understand the entire point of the OP, IE, the joke.

Jesus wept... 3 consecutive replies from @username

15 minutes between the first 2, then nearly 1hr between the 2nd and 3rd. :ROFLMAO:

That's some serious emotional investment. Chill out and enjoy your Friday evening.

I understand. In your world, thinking for more than 15 mins is a rare occurrence.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. However much it pains me to do so, I must quote the helmet: "Do not insult any other member. Be polite and do business. Thank you!"

And having just visited Acorn for the first time in ages to copy and paste that, I think I can say something that you'll both agree with: it's as dead as ever.

I agree. Why a man goes for ad hominin when someone insults the BBC is unfathomable.

What's unfathomable is your inability to ignore any mention of the BBC without sharing your opinion of them for the 2,765th time.

It's boring, and adds zero value to the forum. Like I said, we get it - you hate the BBC.

I'd just like to add that I've received messages from ex-Acorn members that don't want to sign up here because of constant toxic posts from @username (specifically), and I've also received emails from 4m members that also don't enjoy the toxicity found in many of their posts.

4m was an opportunity to continue the movement @Aaron had created on UKDNF. It genuinely had a positive feel about it, and didn't have hateful and negative content like @username posts here.

On that note, I will be taking extended leave from this forum. I realise that won't be a big loss to a lot of you, and it won't disappoint at least one of you.

Looking on the Members page, I have more positive reactions than posts made, so I'm reasonably confident in saying that I have brought value in the time I have been active here.

Wishing you all the best, and I hope that the UK domaining community can one day return to being a friendly, interesting, collaborative, and enjoyable community to be a part of. It has been far too long since it has been that way.

So let me get this straight. You're leaving because I have a joke about the BBC frequently? That is unbelievably odd to say the least. But you claim that I am the one that is unusually emotionally invested, just because I responded directly to your ad hominin comments that I didn't ask for, either.

I said that the people at the BBC are 15 year old turds and you accused me of not understanding the context of the post, to which all context required to understand what @Cav was saying in his post were clear within his post - it was a joke about the word domain and how it could be misconstrued. It was about the BBC, I made a crass BBC joke (again). To what degree does that affect or involve you, or your mates that are offended unnecessarily?

You have called me an angry little weirdo, said I am frothing at the mouth, told me to wipe my chin and said that I must learn to understand the context of things and called me a dick head. Then you have told me that I am looking silly and that I am emotionally invested in your ad hominin attacks and took too much time in your opinion in addressing what you said.

@username frothing at the mouth

...and I have said... what? Addressed your comments directly with a reasoned response and showed that LLMs are shit at giving context?

I don't really understand how you can attack someone directly and then pretend to play the victim. I don't really care if you think LLMs are good for gaining context - I don't.

Too bad seemly didn't get the joke about "domains" pun and tried to clarify it, taking it all too seriously.

and what this demonstrates to us? that the domainers are inherently toxic as a community =) it can either exist totally neutered or it can probably not exist at all ;)
(I am exaggerating about "domainers" obviously, as any pro-free speech minimal moderation community would turn toxic in a matter of days.. these days. Now let's get nostalgic about Internet of '90s).

UKDNF. It genuinely had a positive feel about it, and didn't have hateful and negative content like @username posts here.
I remember joining UKDNF and was staggered at the amount of vitriol there was towards acorn and other stuff. That wasn't positive at all. Thread after thread. If I remember rightly it was shut down due to what resulted from such threads.

I have come around to my way of thinking about acorn because of the existence of that forum and likely the postings of seemly and others about it as they were the ones who were most aggrieved by it.

That is laughable to say the least. My posts about what? Acorn? Woke crap? The coveted BBC? My love of .UK names even though I know everyone prefers .co.uk?

As for hateful content, I'll just sit here waiting to find out what is it that I have posted that was hateful, I don't think that will be forthcoming.
