C'mon, fess up. Who bought polymarket .uk and .co.uk?

That platform has been plastered all over the web as of recent weeks. I was watching the .co.uk, registered in oct and the .uk today.

A DRS waiting to happen

Looks like just parking pages, probably won't have an issue with DRS, well - actually that's a lie as DRS results seem pretty random some times.

Do you reckon? It is a famous mark now, but not registered as a TM probably in the UK, is that why it wouldn't be a problem?

It has become well known recently. It is obvious that it's registered because of that website becoming popular.

It feels too generic to me.

PolyMarket = Many + Market

I'd never heard of the brand before, so it's not as if it's a household name. But I'm no legal expert.

That's fair enough, if you're following this silly US election then it's more visible.

If it's a common phrase within the goods or services it would be generic. A search for "poly market" yields pretty much nothing apart from that platform and talk of that platform.

Ahh, OK. That makes more sense as to why I've not heard of it, as I try to avoid politics, especially US politics.

You have to prove that they'd have known about your "unregistered" rights to the name, and as @seemly said - it isn't that wellknown. Not as well known as "Nike" let's say, or Twitter - where you'd have to have lived under a rocket for 50 years (or 20 with twit) to not know what they are.

I mean, if we suddenly see a duplicate of the .com, then that changes things - but just a parking page with display ads is not abusive.

But decisions have no precedency with DRS, so could really go either way - maybe the Expert follows politics and would have somewhat of a bias towards you "ought" to know what it is, vs. another expert who doesn't follow politics and has no clue.

Lot of factors come into these decisions, and without a hierarchy of cases, you never know for certain.
