Confetti on Domainlore - ten million quid - massive achievement and even better it is still an oldskool looking site 👏

I’ve been asked over what period this was achieved. I explained that I couldn’t reliably recall, although I have a vague recollection of the message previously stating “since [some date]”, whereas it no longer appears to do so. I note that domainlore.co.uk was registered in May 2009, and I believe I recall the site later transitioning to domainlore.uk. Has the site been live for 17 years?

Yes, the first capture on the Wayback Machine was 31 May 2009:

Before that it was briefly called Domainlord, but @Edwin and others pointed out that this sounded a bit arrogant:

I also came across these threads discussing it passing the £1m and £4m milestones:

BTW @invincible, are you behind Domailcrawls? If not, I'm sure you know who is.

I think the story about the Nazi-themed advertising for the 2023 summit needs to be updated with the news that he's moving it to a beer hall in Bavaria. As you do when you live in Kent...

He really is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to material.

Jeff, no but I am aware that I was once featured. I also see it's written on its About page that it's "relaunched in June 2026". Coincidence? You may be surprised how many times I have to deny being you. Deny as I do, people don't believe me and keep asking me if I am sure. Are you sure you're not me? :-)

Regarding HM, I think he's probably now moved onto a more international and a less UK focused audience and I wish him the best with that. I think maybe some of us were intolerant of his behaviour and nuances, including me at times. I met him last year and he was polite and approached me in person, but we didn't mention "the war". In my opinion he may have been taken in by the commentary of RDCE like some others were (but I wasn't). It might be better off for all our sanities if we tried hard to forget about them both as much as possible. Brandolini's law springs to my mind.

Yes, I am surprised, because nobody has ever suggested this to me. Nor do I understand why anyone would think this.

Care to name names? Preferably in the thread, but by DM if you wish.

If anyone seriously believes this, I suggest they ask their preferred AI to perform a stylometric comparison of your posts on this forum with mine, and estimate the probability that they were written by the same person.

I look forward to learning the results from any and all sources. Needless to say, the AI that gives the lowest probability is the winner.

I know I am not you, but try convincing some people of that. Since all of this is written rather than spoken, I would have thought it possible for one person to write in another's style, provided they had enough material to copy from. By the same logic, it should also be possible for a single person to write deliberately in two distinct styles, as long as they put in enough effort to make the two appear genuinely different.
