$25,000

You consider him prominent?

I guess having the finances to buy ready made solutions, paying for PR spots on DNJournal to call yourself a founder, advertising your consulting services for $25k per week, appearing on livestreams to announce a deal for buying Domainlore is imminent ding, and wearing a gold cap really does help to build a fake persona people believe in.

Good luck to him!

Meanwhile, did you see the quality domains being advertised by DNWE on the Fallen Acorn the other day?

I consider him prominent in a Trojan horse kind've way.

Like Helmunts.

Talking of, when is oldcorn shuttering?

It was sundown the moment the exodus took place. Now it's just an echo chamber of regurgitated news articles and "corporate" bullshit, mixed with sales threads generated by bots, and new members asking how to edit signatures with Helmuts responding with an upsell. Because signatures are for premium members, y'know?

Like it or not, I think he has become a prominent figure in the UK domain industry. A bit like Rylan Clark-Neal, who seemingly appeared out of nowhere and quickly made a name for himself without anyone really understanding how he had done so.

However, I see that he's flounced out of Acorn and DNForum yet again, and true to form Helmuts has deleted the thread announcing his return a month or two ago. You really couldn't make those two up.

Wow. Is that serious? The ads are still rolling for brandable.

Interesting development.

Luckily, as a forum, those conversations are facilitated by the ability to create a new thread containing a different topic of conversation.
What's more, nobody is stopping you! :D

Can you try to be more explicit? I'll start us off. Ryan turned up to uk domain name forums, posted a lot about many topics and for some time also featured in streamed video featuring ad-lib commentary.

I can't see much similarity with Rylan [Clark-Neal]. Rylan has an extra 'a' in his name and impressed enough people with power and money to break into show business because he was perceived to have talent that the general public would warm to. I understand that and I hope others do too. You may not believe Rylan is talented but surely you can see that enough people think he is. I disagree that 'anyone really' couldn't understand this.

Can you explain, with examples if you have any, what you think Ryan's talent is? I haven't seen any yet. Not 'talent'.

Domain name forums have always attracted characters that come and go. I won't name them; they might come back! Most are forgettable. :)

Can we therefore assume the contents are factually, correct? “Parent company EW3N has seen gross sales reach $5 million.” Is an impressive number to achieve for a new business.

Very confusing.

So Ew3n Ltd is supposedly the parent company of Dot UK Group.

Ew3n is owned roughly a third each between the three Ewan brothers.

And yet Dot UK Group claims to have three co-founders, of which two are not Ewan brothers. So how can Ew3n be the parent company. Two co-founders with no equity?

The claim that Falbros employed 150 people is fanciful, there are only a few people on Linkedin claiming to ever work for them. The only way that this could feasibly ever be true is if what they actually had was a team of 150 casual part-time Filipino clickworkers on $1 an hour.

The annual accounts show total assets minus liabilities of £299k in 2022, with just shy of £30k in the bank, and that's the healthiest the balance sheet has ever been.

What they essentially have is a small business which pays 2 or 3 people a wage. That's a great achievement in itself from a standing start, and I'll respect anybody who makes a business work for them, but where does he feel the need to ruin that with all this 150 employees nonsense, why the desperation to appear like a high achieving individual? Narcissism? Insecurity due to having been to school with high achievers? Jealous that an ex-girlfriend has a partner with a Lambo?

Is it just the "fake it until you make it" mentality which is has been perpetuated in recent years by Instagram influencers in recent years?

That's $14837 per day.

Enough said.
To be fair, probably some Albanian gangs will be doing that on the daily dropping off cocaine in London. Only other idea I've got to make that sort of money is piling dinghy's full of migrants in Calais, but its very seasonal. Not sure about the Romanian brothels, I think you'd need a dozen of those.

Being able to talk about something and choosing to talk about it are entirely different.
I choose to talk about it because I find it utterly fascinating / intriguing, to be honest.

Not sure why, that's just the way my brain is wired.

You don't think its worth talking about. That's fine also, that's just the way your brain is wired.

Its nice that we aren't all the same, even Mr. Ewan, that's the beauty of being a member of the human race.

All makes sense now. Well, I suppose when we see the first accounts for EW3N, since its accounts are due after the new Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act came into play, we should see the Profit & Loss account, as $5m is certainly over the £632,000 deemed to be a micro company, which doesn't need to publish full accounts with a P&L. I guess we will see 25 January 2025
We already know he is lying.

Falbros has only ever filed micro company accounts.

But claims to have had 150 employees. That would be a seven figure wage bill. Requiring a seven figure turnover to retain a positive balance sheet (which it has).

We know the balance sheet showed £316k or less. So to qualify for micro company accounts it needed to have either:

1. 10 employees or less for all of those years (making 150 employees impossible)
2. A turnover of £632k or less (impossible with 150 employees whilst remaining solvent unless every single one was working 7 hours a week at minimum wage and directors were taking no money).

So no need to wait for his EW3N accounts, we already know that he is a habitual liar.

No wonder he broke out in cold sweats when Helmuts asked him to sponsor that conference, the reality is he hasn't got a pot to piss in.

Were they employees though? “a team of 150 people” Could they be part time contractors?

Can be a lot of money in this game. To rub shoulders with millionaires, sometimes you have to become one, even if you’re lying.

Also, lots of money in coke but it’s highly competitive and dangerous. Weed in the same now the Albanians pretty much run things. But you can grow a small crop of 12 plants without standing on anyone’s toes and make a healthy living if you have the network and the know how

For that matter "$5 million" doesn't necessarily mean five million US dollars. The Guyanese dollar and Liberian dollar both use the dollar symbol, and are both worth about half a US cent.

I'd heard of the cola wars, but didn't realise that they'd turned violent.

Hmmm, how would you know this @ben? And there was me thinking the Lake District was a nice, clean-living, law-abiding place...

Plenty of crime up here. Smack capital of the north allegedly.

I once heard about someone who had a weed tropical rain forest in their attic powered by high powered halogen lamps and hydroponics. They got caught by the police when it snowed and they were the only house in the neighbourhood with no snow on the roof!

Totally accept your point. Just working on the basis of ei incumbit, probatio qui dicit, non qui negat.
