Hello,

Relatively new to drop catching, but have a couple of questions. I have a performant drop catching script, which shows favourable rtt's to Nominets EPP.

For contested domains, the rtt increases exponentially - @transcom I've seen you previously post this:
Here are some customer reported pre delay parameters that have caught, in microseconds :
4300, 9300, 14500, 18300, 34000, 86000, 170000 and 210000

Does this mean for contested domains, we should be firing well before the published drop? I understand why the information around this is sparse, but I'm just trying to get my head round some of the finer details.

It appears as though the process is more of a lottery now, you fire off your creates, before the droptime and hope yours is the one that is in the front of the queue?

I would imagine you try to time all your creates to arrive at zero hour +/- 1 ms or less. You need to know your latency - and the shorter that is the lower the variance will be.
