Do you know?

To me, it sounds like a wearable device that just listens to (and see's?) everything, all of the time.

From a technology perspective (for OpenAI), the amount of data they would then gather would increase exponentially. I'm not too sure how it would determine targeted input vs data poisoning, but I could see it being useful in some context.

From a privacy perspective, it's beyond awful.

One company that basically has almost 100% knowledge about you is terrifying. See what you're seeing, know your location, hear what you're talking about, know who you're interacting with, even sensitive/personal information would be tracked and sent to the cloud.

Imagine the retargeting efforts, and adverts you ended up being exposed to...

I'm not sure, but usually when people are gesturing so much with their hands whilst speaking, it can mean only one thing.

I'm trying to find evidence of the company they're talking about. "IO products". Where is it?

Not attempting to be pedantic: "IO" was Jony's company. "IO Products" is just reference to the work Jony and LoveFrom have been doing with OpenAI for a few years. IO was born from that in 2024.

OpenAI had a 23% stake in IO before they bought it.

IO seems to be made up of hand-picked ex-Apple designers and engineers, so this feels like an investment in exclusivity - getting the new hardware and software designed right in the first place to beat any competition.
