Andrew Bennett, You are part of my problem with Nominet! A pointless has been with no talent and now a proven serious problem that needs dealing with urgently. Now, we will be considering our own legal options as well direct intervention you idiot, but thank you for exposing your true character which will be a prime position on the audit platform. PS: I have had nothing to do with you but I have never liked you!

Holy shit.

How disappointing, Andrew. I really liked you all these years and only used Netistrar for most things I needed for domains outside my own tag, truly disappointing to witness this.

Alright, thanks.

So this "Brian Semley" person seems to be an impersonator.

He has registered with anonymous, privacy-preserving "nominetaudit@proton.me" email, trying to imply he is connected to this "nominetaudit" website, but it is such a lame attempt.

He then tried to post in the "Nominet Board Election" thread, but his post was held for moderation. Recognizing that his "activity" is very time sensitive and he could be banned soon, he began DM'ing his message to forum members (bypassing those who can take action).

The content of his post looks not just dubious, but outright idiotic to anyone willing to dedicated at least a minute of their attention and fact-checking.

In the message signature which you omitted, this "Brian Semley" claims to be of caresupplies.co.uk (is a trading name of NCL Limited (Company Number: 07770335) Vat Registration: GB 167 2842 86). But looking at the details at Company House, one can see that the members of the company are only "Ree Semley" and "Lucy Connor".

Ree was already posting here under his verified persona, so this looks like Brian attempting to limit the damage from Ree's posts, trying to downplay the issue and create a false apology to Rob:

Looking at the IP addresses used by the impersonator:

.. starting with the first IP from the bottom - 62.252.217.253.
(The earliest 77.111.244.181 IP he has registered with belongs to a VPN provider)

So this IP by itself doesn't tell us much, except being a Virgin Media Business customer..

But in a matter of public interest, I looked up this IP among users of DomainLore...

.. and can't believe my eyes!

The name of the user came to "Andrew Bennett" - the only person who ever signed with this IP, twice in 2025.

Woah, I thought.. this might not be a co-incidence - Let's see who is baking Rob Golding..

What a story!
Andrew - you should have kept your VPN active the whole time... I don't understand the logic of attempting to downplay Ree's posts by saying she just gave her number out?

I have to say, this sock account has just made things a lot worse, as before I disregarded what Ree said as just reams of text from a lunatic (no offense @Ree :) ), but now makes me think what he said was true.

Where has Rob gone? He has suddenly gone quite? Why is this person coming to defend Rob?

Did Andrew have a few too many pints on a Friday night and got thought he could make it right?

Truly did not see this coming. Wow, what a turn of events. Thanks Denys for uncovering this. I think Nominet ought to hear about this.

Firstly, thank you to @dn for investigating this so thoroughly.

Secondly, in stark contrast to @Ree's vague half-allegations, @dn's allegation is crystal clear and supported by evidence, so @astutiumRob and @whois-search really need to respond to this.

Thirdly, notwithstanding that @Brian has been outed as a sockpuppet, @Ree's half-allegations remain an incoherent mess. He needs follow @dn's example and provide a similar level of detail and evidence.

Thanks Hook, I've never denied being a 'Lunatic' but sometimes I find it serves me well especially when dealing with life's little shit piles.

All the best, Loony Ree ;)
