Honey Scam

where do you get yours?
Lately, I've been getting it from Ground News. You?

I feel like you're asking me to justify my question, and it's because @username is someone who quite regularly states that "msm/legacy media are utter scum. I'm glad people are waking up to it", and I'm just asking how you'd even know what's going on locally/globally if it weren't for msm/legacy media of some sort.

I'm also wondering how you verify the the quality and trust score of the sources you are getting it from.

I'm not for one second suggesting anything negative (as your question seems to suggest), I'm just interested in people's processes and sources with things like this, and how they check (and confirm) the validity.

Ground news isnt a news/fact source afaik, it's just an aggregator with bias that claims to rank bias.

I do look at it too, though.

Also, I think for the most part, usernames statement is factually correct, the msm and legacy media are indeed utter scum.

Personally, I'm fingers in ears mostly, and enjoy being so over in Asia. I stick to "news" related to my hobbies and local community.

Oh, I very much know that. I just like to get a non-biased overview of reported news that intrigues me (which is incredibly rare).

Most news is missing a bunch of context which skews the "truth", or leaves a lot to interpretation anyway.

Bit of a strawman point that one as @username didn't say he got news or facts from anywhere.

Why do you need to get them from anyone or anywhere anyway? Intuition is the first part of many events, and in many instances, it's just to hold off and wait for more information. Then, it's about inductive reasoning, which helps you reach a logical conclusion.

@username is right, though; if you relied solely on the MSM, you'd think COVID came from a wet market, Ukraine is winning, COVID boosters are a good idea, NATO is stronger than ever, and Trump is a threat to democracy. All of which are unequivocally false, and for the most part, the people producing the content know it. Yet they willingly become government stenographers as their ability to earn a living depends on it. So hard to say they are anything but scum. Or, at the very least they have zero journalistic integrity.

Well, is it even 'news' if you're just following news stories that the MSM push? for example, there's so many terrible things happening on the African continent, yet Syria gets front page treatment by the MSM, promptly before the UK gov gives away our taxes to them. Ground news is still feeding you propaganda and telling you what to care about. If the MSM dont report it, ground news doesnt either.

Where do you get your "news" and "facts" from?
I do my own research.

I get my news from a TV channel branded with a flag and bankrolled by a multimillionaire hedge fund manager and investment firm headquartered in the United Arab Emirates. I also read the Daily Mail.

I get my facts from Reddit wingnuts, YouTube truthers and a billionaire sociopath on social media. I also read the Daily Sport.

Eh? I know he didn't say that, which is why I asked.

@Backyard5562 and @temp123, you both seem to be incredibly defensive of @username. I was just looking to better understand such sweeping statements, and what your criteria is for deciding subject = bullshit, and how you come to such conclusions.

I didn't realise you were all so sensitive, and I'm sorry I've upset you.

I don't think anybody believes any of that though, do they? Well, apart from Trump, who is a threat to democracy. To say otherwise is negligent to say the least.

So this means illegal immigration isn't an issue, and the narrative that Nigel Fromage (and Reform) are pushing by way of msm (GB News) is also unequivocally false? Because that seems to take the bulk of the headlines in this country.

And yes, GB News should be deemed mainstream media due to its financial and operational scale exceeding independent media (not to mention who its financed by).

Sorry to piss on your parade, but you clearly don't understand what Ground News is, or how it works.

The way you phrased the reply with "where you get your "news" and "facts" seems pretty obvious it wasn't asked to seek out some new outlets. Afterall, you've got Ground news!

Strawman central here, pivoting to Farage and migration 😕 But yes, mate, the guy who was just democratically elected and 80 million people voted for, is a threat to democracy. Spot on!

You never fail to amuse with your MSM snippets. I don't hate you for it or anything though, it is nice to be on that side of the fence, don't try too hard to change it cause you'll regret it if you do haha.

At this point those that know that Nigel Farage doesn't know why he's against mass immigration are the same people that know that Trump isn't a nationalist leader.

Trump is a globalist pretending not to be one and Nigel Farage thinks mass immigration from non-EU countries is the solution and doesn't care about white replacement as long the new inhabitants wear a tweed hat and drink tea.

Keep up!!!

I put the words "News" and "Facts" in quotes so as to highlight what we all know MSM is choppy at best. Using sources like Ground News can be useful (to me) because you get to read the same subject from media outlets at either end, and even central, of the political spectrum.

I see now that you interpret what I wrote as me saying "what I read is correct, and whatever you read is wrong", which is the entire opposite of what I'm suggesting. I was genuinely intrigued to discover any sources of more independent "news" and "facts" that provides more context on subjects so we can make up our own minds.

I have no idea why you keep mentioning straw man? I'm highlighting that you are incredibly selective with the news subjects you have chosen to suggest MSM is untrustworthy, whilst almost certainly accepting others as factual.

Clearly you've made your mind up about me already, and will probably accuse me further distracting from meaningful "debate" (which I wasn't doing anyway), so I'll step away.

Let me be the first to say welcome back @Kaleido.

Judge Ewen sentences you to prison, and lo-and-behold you disappear for three months. So have you been released, or just moved to an open prison where you can access the net and try to rebuild your life? Either way, I hope you've learned your lesson. Don't do it again.

At the risk of derailing @wonder_lander's politics and media bias thread, I see that the Honey case continues to grow. There are now at least five affiliate class actions against PayPal, with motions flying around to combine them all. No sign of any consumer class actions yet.

And dragging the thread even further off-topic, I see that honeylawsuit.com, honeyclassaction.com and honeyclaims.com have all been registered in the past three weeks.

Bearing in mind that there's potentially an even bigger class action on the horizon from Honey users who didn't get the lowest price available, does anyone see value in domains like these?

Exlied to oldcorn. That's worse than prison.

I'm currently incarcerated in a high security facility somewhere in deepest darkest Worcestershire. I'm communicating via a WAP enabled Nokia 7110 which I keep secreted in my rectum.

Exlied to oldcorn. That's worse than prison.
I was excommunicated by Grand Master Helmuts for questioning the Ac*rn doctrine. I've been self-flagellating ever since.

Let's check in and see how the BBC reported the arrest of a Labour MP during a pedo sting:

No mention of Labour. No mention of his name. Headline with no detail - "man arrested".

That's what you get from the country's supposed most trusted source for news.
