Hi, quick question re the Nominet Registrant Transfer process (where you pay the £10 + VAT for it) as I am unable to find an answer to this, if the new recipient that I am transferring a domain name to doesn't already own any UK domain names which in turn means they don't already have a Nominet Online Services account are they able to set one up during the transfer process?

Interesting question - I'm not sure as I've never been in this situation but the live chat is quite helpful. You could update the registrant details to their name/email before hand - then they'd be able to set one up from there.

Yes, when Nominet emails them a link to accept the registrant transfer it's part of the process, eg. login to your account or create a new account.

Side note, if they or you are going to release the domain to another TAG with one of the big registrars (eg. 123-Reg, GoDaddy) I find it usually helps speed up the transfer in if you use the same email address as they have on their account for the Nomient registrant transfer.

When Nominet sends the registrant transfer link, that’s simply the next step.. they’ll need to log in or set up a Nominet account to complete it.
