I totally forgot this suffix even existed. The Nominet requirements for this domain suffix are apparently that you must be involved with a Public Limited Company, according to ans.co.uk (will come back to this in a minute), but looking around the web it's extremely difficult to find a registrar who even registers the plc.uk suffix. Asking ChatGPT came back with EuroDNS, which appears to be 18 euros for anybody interested in floating a company.

Remember ANS.co.uk? Well whilst reading that documentation, I wondered if ANS was a domain registrar. But apparently it's just a documentation site for UKFast (EDIT: Sorry looks like UKFast merged with ANS and they now serve as ANS). Anybody remember those? Me too. Where did it go??? Seemed to just drop off the face of the Earth. My curiosity took off down the rabbit hole. Turns out the founder of UKFast was arrested and jailed for sex crimes in 2023. This guy was awarded an MBE and amassed a personal fortune of £700m. Now he's been jailed for 15 years.

Wild.

I registered a .ac.uk a few years back and presume it’s the same criteria but for plc. Think most public facing plc would want .com/.co.uk

Perhaps it would be some sort landing page for investors

The LJ/UKF rabbithole is long-and-windy - the day it all started to come out all the building signage got removed !

As to .plc.uk we registrar them for those that qualify for one, same with .net.uk, .gov.uk, .ac.uk etc if you get stuck for a member to use :)
