Anyone else get the email?

Shame it dive-bombed so badly, it was a good platform. It has been noticed it was crumbling.

Is it possible to post the email? Despite being a member, I did not get one. Thanks.

The writing was on the wall for Brandable when his staff started moonlighting for Ionos - without even changing her top en-route:

https://www.brandable.uk/
https://www.ionos.co.uk/domains/domain-names

More seriously, has he made any effort to sell it? It seems to me that it could be very successful if it was run by someone who hasn't alienated half the potential user base by getting their new forum shut down.

Yet again, I'm left pondering his state of mind.

'Brandable, Flip, and DNWE are all closing down

Holy crap, that's a big hit for .uk but an opportunity for Acorn'

The above statement was made within an hour of me making this post. It was made on the Asscorn forum by Helmuts' friend Frank (AKA MapleDots).

I am curious why such a renowned entrepreneur and forum guru like Frank would make such a statement. Why would Acorn be gifted with such an opportunity, Frank? I won't ever use the forum where you made the post, so I am asking here as we are blessed with the freedom of expression luxury granted by the forum Admin. I also assumed you had joined this forum, but I'll be damed if I can find your user name. Love to discuss your view/s in this open forum if you fancy it.

I get the impression from some of Frank's previous posts on Acorn that he thinks Helmuts is pretty clueless, so perhaps he's being sarcastic.

If you don't want to ask him what he means on Acorn, why not join DN.ca and ask him there?

Morning Jeff,

Well, I'm not one for forum life, and I have a dislike of forums in general, with the exception of this one, which seems to resonate with me for some reason. I am also what you might call 'old school' and want to demonstrate a degree of loyalty to Denys, which I think he deserves in light of how he treats his members and his relaxed views on forum dictatorships, so I will only post domain or domain-related stuff here, regardless of what it is about. I am aware Frank has his own successful forum over in Canada. Now, I doubt it will come as a surprise, but I am not a fan of Asscorn forum owner, and I believe it would be in the best interests of the UK domain industry if he packed up and did something more suited to his talents. Frank made his statement regarding the UK on a UK domain forum, and I would prefer to keep the discussion on UK territory, where it belongs. I personally don't have any negative issues with Frank, but I would like to have a respectful and UK-oriented domain industry chat in this open forum, which I would like to see eventually dominate this space and send Asscorn and its owner into obscurity once and for all, as (in my opinion) as all it/he serves is to make a mockery of all who is involved within the UK domain space.

Oldcorn next?
I have a feeling its days are numbered.

I mean, WOW, the phenomenal posts from the administration of Asscorn are quite riveting.
Meskonis Poll.png

Who the F*#K cares if it shuts down on the 27th? Like 100% of his posts, meaningless Claptrap.

There's just no place for a 3rd auction platform is there. You'd need to be a fool to put something on there for no commissions over paying Denys or Rob and they'll get you market value at least.

There's no way that junk was worth £10k lol, fake bid, fake news.

Is Helmuts deliberately trolling his erstwhile best mate with that poll, or just being his usual crass self?

If I knew how, I'd start my own poll here asking that very question.

I'm wondering why anyone thinks that this would be an opportunity for oldcorn? Removing platforms where sales could happen leads to less talk, surely, not more.

0 posts going lower is still 0.

Isn't that Helmets business model? Buying failing/failed sites, and making them worse? He could definitely achieve that here.

I hope it is profitable for his sake, God loves a trier. But you have to know when to chop things, which is clearly where Ryan was at with these ventures.

Like you and @Ree, I'm not quite sure what Frank meant by that post, but I'd hazard a guess that he was suggesting Helmuts acquire the three closing platforms.

Helmuts has posted on DNForum giving an explanation (of sorts) as to why he won't be doing so:

https://www.dnforum.com/threads/rya...-flip-uk-and-brandable-uk.624380/post-2403811

I suspect the main reason is that he doesn't have the technical knowledge to run any of them.

Does anyone know if it’s actually profitable? I assume that will determine its long-term viability.
I don't know for sure, but Acorn has several advertisers, so I imagine it's making a small profit at the moment. How long those advertisers stick with him if their ads don't convert into clicks and sales is another matter.

Thanks for posting that link, Jeff. Quite hilarious, in my expert opinion, I find the perceived industry clown's posts bewildering and delusional beyond comprehension. Why the hell would the likes of GD, Sedo, and all the major players give a damn if Meskonis takes over the 3 Aftermarket platforms, Ryan, Jeff, and Mo are closing down? Anyone involved in a rival enterprise would surely hope, in my opinion, that Meskonis take them on, which would ensure the destruction of 3 three platforms, removing competitors from the domain aftermarket space. He is still as delusional as ever in my opinion, and still just as entertaining to those who like to laugh at clueless stupidity.
