Nominet Board elections 2025: Kieren McCarthy v Rob Golding

I think the only thing I'd add to this thread is for people to be careful with what they post.

While the evidence provided earlier looks to be incriminating, the dynamically distributed nature of IP addresses provides plausible deniability, no matter how unlikely the odds are.

I have absolutely zero investment in this. I don't know anyone involved on a personal level or otherwise. I just think that when you have no horse in the race, sometimes it's best to say nothing.

I mean the likeliness of that IP being released to another Virgin Business customer who also involved in the domaining industry seems very slim. The metadata + IP could really fingerprint him. I'm not sure if Denys is tracking analytics on here, but if he is - will be easy.

Oh for sure! I know full well just how unlikely it is to not be how it appears. But legalities and law don't work like that.

All I'm saying is that for the people that have no vested interest, don't just voice an opinion that could leave you at risk.

I think we're talking lottery-winning odds here, but I expect that's why the other thread has been moved to the members only section.

@dn, can you tell us how many members the Brian Semley DM was sent to? Without re-reading both threads, I can only remember myself, @ben and @Hook mentioning that we'd received it. Did you get it @seemly? "Brian" is supposed to have a stand at the summit today and tomorrow, so perhaps one of the attendees will ask him.

@GreyWing, An old mate of yours will be joining this forum shortly.
Lesley Cowley? Jim Davies?

Is @Ree not Jim ?

Ain't that the truth.

It was just a friendly suggestion just to avoid any unwanted interest in future.

Did you get it @seemly?
I did not! I did think it was odd that Ben had even been messaged, just based on the fact that at that time I don't think he was even involved in any of the related threads?

I was, but I did think it was weird when I found out only a select few people had received it.

Golding keeps login in. I don't know why you don't just f*#k O*#. You are like a turd that just wont flush away.

I heard what Helmuts called you. Was that the little thing that made you two fall out??? If he did say that I will give him the forum of his dreams! I agree 1000% with him!!!!

@whois-search, care to enlighten and quantify the reach for me?

I should be deep in white papers on 99%-purity graphite for a proposed PPP/P3, but it seems I’m distracted by paperwork of another kind. Strange how that happens…

Where's 'Daddy Brian' to put me back on track? I was meant to be back with him this week, was I not?

Helmuts has posted the video of the Q&A with Kieren McCarthy at the summit:

Like most people on this forum I'm pretty scathing about Helmuts' stewardship of Acorn, but all credit to him for putting this on and posting the video. I found it very informative.

Kieren touches on @astutiumRob's absence at the beginning and mentions that "there is now a reason why" (as if he's only just discovered this thread), but he doesn't specify what the reason is.

I didn't find Kieren particularly impressive because there were several occasions when he didn't seem to be on top of the detail, so IMHO Rob made a mistake in not debating him. Nothing to lose, and I doubt that the contents of this thread would have been mentioned anyway.

People don't realise that failure in business is a good thing. I hate how there is still a stigma behind failure. As Zig Zagler once said, "Failure is the condiment that gives success it's flavour", Jim Davies ought to take that on board. Sometimes business' fail and people investing in them should know that the money they are investing in any business is at risk.

Helmuts needs to work on the audio, that shit was awful.

Also, why hasn't Andrew Bennett's actions been addressed yet? Where was Rob? Does he have a drink problem? What's going on?

Outstanding! See you at the Webinar, and thanks to the Nominet member for getting me access if you are viewing this forum and thread. It will be very, very, very interesting. I have lots of questions to ask the candidates! Hey, we can record the event too for quality and training purposes. See you on the 11th, you cheeky chappies!

The way these webinars work and always have worked is the member has to ask a question that is applicable to all of the candidates. Anything else will get shutdown. Candidates also don't question each other.

Ahhh, I see, brother. Thank you for the heads up, saving me from a very frustrating situation. Anyway, there may well be plenty more to chat about by the 11th. Strange things are proceeding as normal, considering the circumstances. I guess it proves the cesspit comment I made previously. I'll settle for the recording of the debate and get ready for the results of the NED elections then. I'm happy this webinar has been announced because it justifies a remedy to clean things up. I'm not sure you would agree or not, but Nominet appears to be quite a fragile organisation. The gentleman who called me spoke to me as if he were defusing a bomb, go figure. Thanks again, invincible, glad you made the post.
