Observing on both platforms, I could be wrong but it appears .org.uk prices are outpacing .co.uk. Perhaps they naturally have stronger links due to the nature of the activities.

Correct. More often, gov.uk, ac.uk..etc - the most valuable links - are pointing to .org.uk's.

all ccTLD from an SEO point of view pass the same value. It is correlation rather than causation, the fact .org.uk domains have been used by legitimate companies/organisations has naturally attracted links from established sources. .gov.uk / ac.uk as Denys said, but then also all the big media companies and publishes.

When I look through all my domains I've purchased for SEO, the .org.uk ones standout but just because they are usually the ones I've paid the most for. (for the reasons listed above)

the .org.uk doesn't have any value outside of this - it isn't trusted more by Google.

What is going on with these seo names. all of a sudden loads of big sales?

AI in search results plus users preference to AI platforms is diluting the traditional Google rank method?

I mean, what is actually going on. That is some return for the buyer in 23. Big kick in the teeth for ALPHADOMAINS lol

Will there be a positive knock on effect for the value of non SEO uk domains? Or is it just a temporary factor?

Of course not, its 100% an seo play and has absolutely nothing at all to do with non seo domain sales.

It doesn't appear so, and I wouldn't expect it either. The dominating suffix at present appears to be .org.uk, and that's because they have strong gov, or moreover, ac.uk backlinks. For some weeks I have been thinking it might be a pharmaceutical company buying them up in order to point the backlinks into a new project website. I would be hesitant to think this would be good for .uk domains, but perhaps in some small scale it might attract new prospectors to the industry, which in turn might drive it up a small bit. Looking at current patterns though, it doesn't appear to have affected non-seo .uk.

That being said, I think the suffix is irrelevant at present, whichever contains ac.uk or gov or edu links or backlinks from authority sources in the research sector, seem to be the key, .org.uk .co.uk or otherwise.

If you are still pondering what type of company is buying these domains - then you need to go and do the slightest bit of research. These domains come online relatively quickly, so just look at historical sales and there is your answer.

Thanks @Hook, I haven't done the slightest bit of research, as I am very busy at the moment with a custody case and other real world issues. But I am presuming it is what it is.

I didn't mean for it to read like that, however if you open the urls from the past history - you can see a pattern.

I've now got a list of a handful of domains that were offered to me for buttons over the last couple of years, that have now sold for 4 or 5 figures each.

It's beyond mental that the buyers allowed this situation to happen - they've accelerated the public price then bought up all the turds people were sitting on for 20x their price. They've wasted at least a quarter million £, these could all have been hoovered up before they sent the prices as they are.
